This genuine Impala Super Sport received a meticulous body-off-frame restoration and retains its original engine, transmission and rear axle. Approximately 2,000 miles have been added since the restoration. Finished in Ember Red with a red bucket-seat interior, it is powered by a rebuilt 327 producing 275 horsepower and paired with a Powerglide automatic transmission. Vintage Air, power steering and upgraded power front disc brakes improve comfort and drivability.

EXTERIOR

The body is laser straight with precise panel alignment and doors that open and close smoothly. Ember Red paint extends into the jambs and has a deep gloss. A prior paint reaction caused small bubbles in localized areas; this is noted as part of the car's current condition. Painted optional fender skirts are included and can be installed if desired.

The polished stainless-steel and chrome trim includes Super Sport machine-turned tail-panel and side moldings. Additional period accessories include door-handle guards, fuel-door trim, rocker moldings, rear antenna, bumper guards, grille guard and dual mirrors. The window frames, glass, weatherstripping and seals were replaced. Painted 14-inch wheels carry restored SS wheel covers and radial tires.

INTERIOR

The red interior was renewed from carpet to headliner. The bucket seats were fully restored and separated by a reproduction center console. Red carpeting and seat belts finish the floor, while the dashboard includes optional padding, stock-appearing electronic Vintage Air controls and a retro stereo with upgraded speakers in the factory locations.

The door panels, armrests and window cranks were replaced. A white headliner with embossed stars and matching visors completes the cabin.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT

Engine codes and dates identify the original 327, which was completely rebuilt. It retains stock exhaust manifolds and uses an upgraded dual-feed Holley carburetor. Vintage Air heat and air conditioning, power steering and an upgraded power-brake system with a dual-reservoir master cylinder are installed. An aluminum radiator provides additional cooling. The painted metal surfaces and related components are clean and properly fitted.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT

The underside of the trunk lid and jamb are finished in glossy Ember Red. The trunk includes a working light, replacement weatherstrip and rear-seat insulation, a restored jack and a painted spare wheel with a fifth matching tire. A toolbox and floor jack are also included.

CHASSIS AND UNDERSIDE

The front steering and suspension and the rear suspension were completely rebuilt with replacement bushings, springs and shocks. The braking system was overhauled with new lines, hoses and parking-brake cables, plus a front-disc conversion. A replacement dual-exhaust system follows the X-frame and uses glass-pack-style mufflers. The fuel tank and related fuel-system components were replaced.

The rebuilt 327 is clean and Chevy Orange underneath, with a correct canister-type oil filter. The original Powerglide transmission and original rear axle with 3.08 gears remain in place. The floors, braces, rockers and chassis are smooth, solid and finished in semi-gloss black.
