1966 Ford Mustang Coupe

This 1966 Ford Mustang has received a rotisserie restoration and is finished in Sapphire Blue with a two-tone blue deluxe Pony interior. It is powered by a rebuilt 289-cubic-inch V8 rated at 225 horsepower and paired with a C4 automatic transmission. EXTERIOR

The straight body is finished in Sapphire Blue metallic paint with a deep-gloss clear coat and well-aligned panels. Most of the chrome and trim appears to have been replaced, along with the windshield and weatherstripping. The Mustang rides on 15x7-inch chrome GT wheels fitted with BFGoodrich tires.

INTERIOR

The restored deluxe Pony interior features two-tone seats with embossed Pony inserts, replacement cushioning and upholstery, molded deluxe door panels with knife-handle releases, woodgrain dash trim, a deluxe steering wheel, and a center console. Blue carpeting, Pony floor mats, front and rear seatbelts, dash pad, instrument bezels, glovebox door and liner, headliner, and the owner's manual were replaced or renewed. A retro-style stereo occupies the factory location and is connected to speakers in the kick panels and rear shelf. The interior lighting is operational.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT

The rebuilt 289 V8 uses a slightly hotter camshaft, Edelbrock aluminum intake, Holley carburetor with electric choke, refreshed ignition system, and an aluminum radiator. The car is equipped with power steering and an upgraded dual-reservoir master cylinder. The battery is secured with replacement cables, and the windshield-washer bag, pump, and nozzles are connected. The metal surfaces are clean and smooth, and the underside of the hood is painted body color.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT

The trunk lid underside, jamb, and interior are finished in matching blue. The compartment includes a replacement spare tire, jack assembly, reproduction plaid mat, and replacement weatherstripping.

CHASSIS AND UNDERSIDE

The underside was cosmetically and mechanically restored. Steering and suspension components were renewed and upgraded with gas shocks. The braking system was rebuilt with front disc brakes, replacement hoses and lines, and a connected parking brake. The fuel tank, sending unit, and fuel lines were replaced. A correct GT-style dual-exhaust system uses a crossover pipe and stainless-steel tips exiting through the rear valance. The Ford-blue engine is paired with the C4 automatic transmission, and a rebuilt driveshaft connects to a Traction-Loc rear axle. The solid floors are finished in semi-gloss black.
