EXTERIOR

The iconic Sting Ray body presents well in Rally Red and features hideaway headlights, a sculpted big-block hood, chrome trim, and factory-style side exhaust. The body is in very good driver-quality condition, with smooth, glossy paint that looks impressive from normal viewing distance. Minor imperfections are visible upon close inspection.

The chrome and glass are in good condition. Knock-off wheels and radial redline tires complement the classic appearance, while a matching fifth wheel and unused tire are included as the spare. The black convertible top is also in very good condition.

INTERIOR

The black interior presents nicely throughout. The seats have new cushions and upholstery, the door panels are in very good condition, and the carpeting looks good from front to rear.

The factory instrumentation is clean and operational, including the clock. The car retains the correct 6,500-rpm redline tachometer for the 425-horsepower engine, along with its original AM/FM radio and chrome reverse-lockout shifter. The glovebox light is also functional.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT

Under the hood is the original numbers-matching 427-cubic-inch L72 V8 rated at 425 horsepower. Its casting dates, codes, stamp pad, and factory-style broach markings are consistent with the engine’s documented originality.

The engine compartment retains stock-style exhaust manifolds, valve covers, air cleaner, ignition shielding, spring-clamp battery cables, and GM-style hoses.

CHASSIS AND UNDERSIDE

The independent front and rear suspension systems show evidence of having been disassembled and rebuilt. The factory four-wheel disc brakes have also been rebuilt, and the parking brake is connected and operational.

The rebuilt Muncie four-speed transmission, shifter, and linkage present cleanly. The properly coded 3.36 Positraction rear axle is the correct big-block-specific unit. The frame is solid, the fiberglass floors are in very good condition, and the spare-tire carrier remains intact.

The underside also retains a correct-style canister oil filter, fuel pump, starter, and crimped side-exhaust system. The side pipes produce the deep, distinctive exhaust note expected from an L72-powered Corvette.
